‘THE PLEASURE OF SAD SONGS’
Leah Cotterell grew up in a family of eccentrics, full of dreams and ideas, but often wandering the maze of serious mental illness. As the last Cotterell left in the wild, Leah has spent recent years advocating and caring for her family members. In this musical theatre work, through a double entry accounting reconciliation of loves and losses, wonders and despairs, Leah introduces the audience to her extraordinary story in song, spoken word and nostalgic imagery.
Leah is has been delighting audiences across Australia for decades and is accompanied by Stephen Russell, one of Australia’s most accomplished jazz pianists.
